NATIONAL CADET CORPS(NCC)



From August 1979, NCC started functioning in C.B.M. College. An Infantry unit was inaugurated by Colonel. WAHE, Group Commander- COIMBATORE NCC in the immediate presence of our beloved founder Dharmapravarthana C.B.Muthusawmy Chettiar Avargal.At present, we enrol 70 cadets. from 1982, this unit has been sending at least 1 Cadet to participate in the Republic Day parade and PM's rally of New Delhi.

Our NCC officer, Major S.Ramachandran took part in the 1985 Republic day Parade and PM's Rally as Asst.

Contingent Commander.Our Cadets have taken part enthusiastically in all the Social service activities like blood donation camps and village Development programmes.

Institutional training in weapon training, map reading, Field craft, leadership qualities, first aid, national Integration, adventure activities, firing, drill with arms, GUARD-MOUNTION, Citizenship Qualities are given to our Cadets systematically.

Apart from this, our Officer and Cadets attended the National level and state Level Camps in different parts of India. We have also sent Cadets to Canada under Indo-Canada Youth Exchange Programme.

Our NCC Officer was the co-ordinator for Indo-Canada Educational Activity Programme at Coimbatore.

Ourcollege NCC Unit is unique in its various achievements. In this 24th Year of our Unit's inception, we pledge to march forward and fulfil our dreams and ambition.

13. Traffic Control and Service at Destitute Homes.

14. Temple Cleaning Programmes and Preserving the Historic Monuments.

15. Gujarat Earthquake Relief measures (Collection of medicines, food grains and Clothes).

16. Orissa Flood Relief - Cloth Collection.

17. Organisation of Lecture Programmes for our Cadets by Eminent Personalities.

18. Celebrations of Independence Day and Republic Day in our College in a grand and fitting manner.

19.Appreciation of our Unit activities by Eminent Dignitaries.

The National Service scheme of CBM College is    functioning with the prime objective of ‘service to thcommunity.In accordance with the NSS motto “NOT ME  BUT YOU” every year the unit used to undertake a variety of programme depending upon the local needs, resources and skill, in the adopted villages and other areas.

Our general activities are listed as follows,

Campus Cleaning , Tree planting and watering. Organizing Blood Donation Camp, Blood Grouping Camp and General Medical Camp AIDS awareness programme Awareness about the evils of Drinking and Drug Abuse.Celebration of national importance days and special days announced by the Govt Celebration of road safety week, fuel conservation programme etc.

Environmental education programme. Propagation of eradication of social evils like castism, communalism, corruption, adulteration,hoarding, profiteering, untouchability, drug addiction etc. Construction of sanitary latrines urinals, etc.Construction of houses for homeless people at low-cost. Creating of Consciousness among people, 'Women Empowerment and that they too contribute to economic and social well being of the community.

Social  Service during festivals and meals. Assisting the authorities in distribution of rations , medicines, clothes etc. Programmes of work during emergencies.Assistance to the health authorities in inoculation and immunization, supply of medicines etc .
